His expertise with larger construction companies, farms and fleets has provided him a wealth of knowledge in servicing those areas. He’s quickly approaching 10 years at Nicol, and is surprised at how the time has flown by.
Megan Jackson is Nicol Insurance administrative assistant. Energized and positive, Megan brings a lot of good vibes to the Nicol Insurance, Owen Sound office. Graduating from Niagara’s Hospitality Management program, Megan immediately entered the hotel industry. After that experience, she moved direction and started working with the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce. It was here where she learned a lot about managing documents, and knows it can get pretty chaotic from time to time. Megan works hard to keep every ones spirits up, “even though we have offices all around Ontario, I feel like we have a good connection to them.” Connection is everything to this cheerful spirit, who thinks working in a community, as awesome as Owen Sound is, pretty great.
Born and raised in Owen Sound, Sue Lambkin has been with Nicol Insurance since 2001. As Controller, Sue does all the accounting and payroll services for all the Nicol locations.
Growing up in an insurance family, Krista Tippin started working in the financial sector immediately. Quite often the first person clients meet upon arrival at the Owen Sound office, she makes a great first impression. Krista enjoys people, she is engaging as she focuses on providing a “positive impact” with everybody. She radiates Nicol’s warm and family oriented atmosphere. She loves the variety and the challenges that come with the everyday.
With over two decades in business development, Michelle van Essen enjoys her diverse role as Executive Assistant to Nicol Insurance’s leadership team. Working out of the Owen Sound office, Michelle engages with all of the companies locations. She enjoys all aspects of technology, and her knowledge in the financial, automotive and IT industries provides an excellent resource as she streamlines communications and makes sure company systems work seamlessly.
Soon after a successful start in accounting, Nicol Insurance Chief Financial Officer Adam Barfoot made the decision that he wanted something more. With the designation CPA, CA, he was at the time working for a public accounting firm. In 2012, after a conversation with childhood friend Tim Nichol, he decided to make the jump and began his career as an insurance broker. Attaining his CAIB, he now acts as the principle broker for Nicol Insurance and with Tim Nicol is equal partner.
