Nicol Insurance is a locally owned and operated insurance brokerage with seven offices in the Owen Sound region. We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Personal Lines Account Manager to manage a book of business, combining the responsibilities of both sales and service. In this role, you will be responsible for proactively growing your book of business by acquiring new clients, managing existing client relationships, and ensuring retention. You will handle all aspects of both sales and service, transitioning between generating new business opportunities, conducting renewals, and delivering outstanding customer service.

This position is ideal for someone who is motivated by sales growth, enjoys developing strong client relationships, and takes pride in delivering personalized insurance solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales & Growth:

  • Develop leads and identify opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell insurance products.
  • Generate new business by proactively contacting potential clients and leveraging referrals and personal connections.
  • Provide quotes and comparisons for new clients and renewal policies.
  • Write new policies and ensure that sales targets are met.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build strong relationships with clients, ensuring a high level of retention and satisfaction.
  • Manage renewals, ensuring premium accuracy and making necessary adjustments.
  • Contact clients regarding billing inquiries, renewals, cancellations, and non-sufficient funds (NSF) notifications.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries, aiming to resolve issues within 4 business hours.

Service & Compliance:

  • Handle policy changes, endorsements, and updates in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure all policy documentation is accurate, up to date, and compliant with company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct monthly audits as required and complete daily/monthly reports, including renewals and transactions.
  • Collaborate with underwriters to provide necessary documentation and respond to requests.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required; RIBO license preferred (or willingness to obtain).
  • Prior insurance experience is an asset but not required.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office 365 and various insurance management systems (experience with EPIC, Policy Works, and Blue Butler is an asset).
  • Exceptional customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Strong communication, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Adaptable and willing to learn new skills on an ongoing basis.
  • Enthusiastic, professional, and success-oriented with a focus on exceeding client expectations.
